FAQ
Where is your office located?
We are located in Nacogdoches at
924 N. University Dr., Nacogdoches, Texas 75961.
Which counselor will I see?
After your initial consultation with Le’Ann Solmonson, she’ll help you decide which counselor is the best fit for you. That may be based on what you’re wanting to work on or your schedule availability.
Can I request a counselor?
Absolutely!
After reading through each counselor’s bio, you may find someone you feel is the best fit for you, or you may have been referred by someone else to a particular counselor. All you have to do is ask for an appointment with that counselor.
What are your hours?
With so many counselors, we have appointments available on weekdays, weekends, and the evening.
Do you take insurance?
Some of our counselors take insurance and others are private pay. Private pay would be considered out-of-network providers for insurance. See the About Us page to see individual information on insurance and rates. We’re happy to provide you with the necessary superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
You can use the number on the back of your insurance card to call and ask about out-of-network benefits and how to file for reimbursement. As out-of-network providers, we do not interact directly with your insurance company.
Why would I not want to use my insurance benefits?
There are several things you should be aware of when using insurance benefits for mental health care.
First, some insurance companies will require us to make a diagnosis in order to cover your counseling services. While all of our counselors are licensed and trained to make a mental health diagnosis, we don’t like putting labels on people if we can avoid it.
We can often help you improve your symptoms without having to make a diagnosis. There are some exceptions to that and we can talk about that with you.
Insurance companies may limit the number of sessions, or only pay for certain techniques. As counselors, we want to be able to help you using all of the tools we have available and not be limited to what an insurance provider will cover.
When you use your insurance benefits, you’re sacrificing some of your privacy. Your treatment is now a part of your insurance history and will be considered a pre-existing condition. We would never want to suggest that receiving counseling is a negative thing. However, a pre-existing condition of any kind can impact future insurance rates and access to care.
How long is a session?
A regular session is 50-60 minutes.
If we feel it’s necessary to schedule a longer session, we’ll talk about that with you at the time of scheduling the appointment. We try to stay on schedule, but we also don’t want to end a session if we are in the middle of doing good work together.
How many sessions will I need?
The answer to that question is different for everyone based upon the individual issue.
Scheduling and keeping regular appointments and completing any homework the counselor may assign will help you to stay focused and make better progress.
How much do you charge?
The fees are different based upon the experience and credential of the counselor.
The more experience and training the counselor has, the more the fee will be. The fees range from $75 – 125 an hour.
We accept cash, checks, and credit cards. Many of the counselors use IVYPay, a HIPAA compliant app that protects your credit card information. Payment in full is expected at the time of services.
