Le’Ann Solmonson, Ph.D., LPC-S, CSC, EMDR Trained Therapist

My students call me Dr. Solmonson. But, you can call me Le’Ann.
We need to be on a first name basis if we’re going to work closely together. I’ve been a counselor for 30 years and worked in a variety of settings, including schools, private hospitals, and agencies. Right now, I’m a retired SFA professor and the owner of this practice. I also supervise LPC Associates as they begin their counseling career.

My first professional career was a classroom teacher. I was one of those children who desperately needed a caring adult in my life. I recognized those children in my classroom and was drawn to them. Those children were what originally called me into the counseling profession.

While the majority of my career has focused on children and adolescents and their families, I also love some adult conversations. I enjoy working with couples and families to help improve their relationships.

I’m a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and a daughter-in-law. I understand the demands of balancing a family, a career, and personal obligations. I’ve struggled with saying “no”, which often led me to being stretched pretty thin. I’m the perfect example of “if you want something done, ask the busiest person you know”.

I tend to be the keeper of our family and have struggled with accepting that I’m not responsible for everyone’s happiness and wellbeing. I finally figured out that I’m not my best when I fail to take care of me. I take care of myself by gardening, cooking, and being outdoors. When I take care of me, I do a better job of caring for my family.

I want to help you take care of you so that you can be your best in all that you do.
